I've exclusively partnered with a premium lifestyle brand who are looking for an experienced Compliance & Technical Manager to join their team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. Working across their brand portfolio, you will take ownership of product compliance, safety, sustainability, and technical standards - ensuring all ranges meet the required legal, ethical, environmental, and quality benchmarks across global markets.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who is passionate about developing robust processes, building trusted supplier relationships, and supporting teams to deliver compliant, sustainable, and high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of product compliance across multiple categories and regions, ensuring adherence to UK, EU, and international regulations.
- Embed B Corp principles into product specifications, sourcing, testing, and supplier requirements.
- Maintain and update the company compliance manual, policies, and testing requirements.
- Monitor changes in legislation and standards, translating them into clear, actionable updates for product development.
- Ensure suppliers meet all technical, compliance, and sustainability specifications.
- Oversee testing from sample through to bulk production, ensuring products meet safety, performance, and environmental standards.
- Manage sustainability data collection and maintain accurate records to support audits, certification renewals, and B Corp assessments.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure certifications, technical files, and labelling are compliant.
- Lead supplier engagement on sustainable materials, ethical practices, and environmental initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to Product, Design, and Garment Technology teams.
- Partner with design, sourcing, and marketing to ensure sustainability-related product claims are accurate and substantiated.
- Manage the critical path for compliance, sustainability, and technical milestones.
- Maintain accurate, accessible documentation for relevant teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in sustainability performance, identifying opportunities for reduced footprint, recyclability, and supply chain transparency.
- Proven experience in a compliance or technical management role within fashion, textiles, or consumer products.
- Strong knowledge of UK, EU, and international compliance standards, product safety regulations, and testing protocols.
- Understanding of sustainability legislation, environmental standards, and certifications.
- Experience managing suppliers and external testing houses.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of sustainable and ethical product standards is essential.
This is a part-time, fixed term contract, working hybrid 3 days office, 2 home.
