We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join us, contributing to the smooth running of our finance function and supporting a range of core activities. At Consultus, we help organisations achieve their net zero and cost efficiency goals through trusted, expert partnership. Our Finance team plays a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring strong financial controls and accurate reporting that support every part of the business.

What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting both operational and month end processes.
- Invoice and purchase order processing
- Setting up and maintaining vendor records
- Processing invoices accurately
- Logging invoices in the fixed asset register and prepayments schedule
- Distributing invoices for authorisation
- Creating and maintaining purchase orders
- Preparing monthly payment reports to support cashflow
- Reconciling supplier statements, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring completeness of purchasing records
- Completing weekly and month end bank reconciliations
- Preparing payment runs and ensuring timely supplier payments
- Posting bank transactions
- Processing employee expenses and credit card transactions
- Monitoring missing receipts and liaising with colleagues where needed
- Reconciling commission statements and billing energy suppliers
- Investigating and resolving commission related queries
- Supporting wider credit control activities including chasing customers
- Maintaining a well‑managed finance inbox
- Providing general administrative support to the Accounting and Finance team
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth financial operations

Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in a finance or accounts role
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage or similar)
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Clear communication skills and a supportive, team focused approach
