Overview

At Consultus International Group, we are proud to be a trusted Net Zero Consultancy, delivering impactful energy and sustainability solutions to clients in the UK and globally. We’re growing and are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help us continue to support organisations on their journey to lower emissions and improved energy performance.

About The Role

You’ll be responsible for proactively identifying, developing, and winning new business opportunities, taking ownership of the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. This is a role for someone who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities, and building long‑term client relationships in a consultative way. The focus is on selling a broad range of energy and sustainability services to organisations with significant energy spend and complex needs.

This is a predominantly new business role, with responsibility for building and managing a strong pipeline through self‑generated activity, supported by marketing, lead generation and referrals. You’ll also develop selected existing client relationships where appropriate and work closely with internal teams—including marketing and lead generation—to ensure a strong flow of qualified opportunities. Success in this role will come from your ability to understand client challenges, engage senior stakeholders and clearly articulate tailored solutions.

Services you’ll be selling:

  • Sustainability and Net Zero Consulting:
    • Net Zero Pathways (Scopes 1, 2 & 3)
    • ESOS, SECR and other compliance reporting
    • Virtual Energy Management
    • Cultural and behavioural change programmes
  • Technology and Implementation:
    • Solar PV, Wind and Battery Storage
    • EV Charging Infrastructure
    • LED Lighting and Low Carbon Heating Solutions
  • Energy Procurement:
    • Electricity, Gas and Water contracts
    • Risk management strategies
    • Bureau and bill validation services
    • Metering and PPA support

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in B2B sales within the energy or sustainability sector
  • A strong understanding of the solutions outlined above
  • A track record of working with mid to large‑sized organisations, including at senior decision‑making levels (e.g. CFO, FD, Directors)
  • The ability to ask the right questions, listen well, and identify how we can help
  • Confidence in managing their own pipeline and activity, with support from the wider team
  • Clear communication skills and a structured approach to managing work

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Experience launching new services into the market
  • Experience working with partners and building referral networks
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how businesses make decisions around energy and carbon

Why join Consultus?

  • True market differentiation – We’re a mature, values‑led consultancy with deep technical expertise and a strong reputation in the energy and sustainability space
  • High‑value client base – You’ll work with major brands across sectors, supporting them with tailored, often complex solutions that make a genuine impact
  • Real earning potential – With uncapped commission, strong lead generation support, and no ceiling on progression, your success is in your hands
  • Supportive infrastructure – You’ll be backed by experienced teams across sales, marketing, and delivery to help you focus on what you do best
  • Flexible working – We offer remote‑first working with access to regional hubs, giving you the freedom to manage your time effectively

Ready to apply?

Join Consultus at a time of steady growth, where your work will directly support well‑known businesses in meeting their energy and carbon goals. You’ll be part of an established consultancy with the flexibility, support, and commercial opportunity to succeed.

We encourage suitable applications from a diverse array of talent. Unfortunately, because we are unable to offer VISA sponsorship for this position, all applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
