Job Overview

We are looking for hardworking and reliable Airport Cleaning Operatives to join our terminal services team. You will be the face of the airport, ensuring that passengers have a world-class experience in a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. This role is fast-paced and essential to the 24/7 operation of London's busiest travel hubs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Terminal Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining high-traffic areas including departure lounges, check-in desks, and arrival halls.
  • Washroom Hygiene: Ensuring all restroom facilities are cleaned, disinfected, and restocked to a high standard throughout the shift.
  • Waste Management: Emptying bins, recycling properly, and ensuring floors are free of litter and spillages.
  • Specialist Cleaning: Operating industrial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners (training provided).
  • Security Awareness: Remaining vigilant and reporting any unattended baggage or suspicious activity to Airport Security immediately.
  • Customer Service: Providing friendly assistance to passengers who may have questions about directions or facilities.

Requirements & Skills

  • Background Check: You must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work/education history and undergo a Basic DBS check for airside security clearance.
  • Reliability: Ability to commute to the airport for early starts (e.g., 4:00 AM) or late finishes; flexibility with shift patterns is essential.
  • Communication: Good level of spoken English to communicate with team members and passengers.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift and perform manual cleaning tasks.
