We are currently seeking an Transport Allocator / Administrator to join a food distribution company in Botany. You will demonstrate excellent organisational, time management skills and a personable disposition to keep a team thriving and a desire to excel. The ideal candidate will have a natural ability to positively join a team and roll with the punches, be flexible to handle anything that might come their way and display resilience during busy periods.

Objectives of this Role

  • Update the daily job roster spreadsheet.
  • Create, allocate, and release tasks using our electronic scheduling system for drivers and subcontractors.
  • Proactively communicate with clients to confirm truck requirements, provide updates on schedules, and address any potential issues before they arise.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring consistent follow-ups.
  • Coordinate subcontractor availability to meet project demands.
  • Notify task releases via our SMS messaging system.
  • Manage enquiries from drivers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Assist in administration with major projects.

Skills Required

  • Punctual and reliable non-negotiable
  • Previous experience in a Fleet Controller/Allocator position in a multi-drop run
  • Highly developed IT skills and knowledge of computer systems
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Prepared to work with a safety conscious team

Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong IT skills - Microsoft Office, transport systems and Outlook
  • Knowledge of transport industry
  • Must have 2 years experience in a similar role
