Consulting Point is appointed to find a high-impact, finance-qualified professional to join the Value Advisory team of a global consultancy. This firm prioritises measurable business transformation over technology sales in isolation.
The Opportunity: As a Value Engineer, you will lead the development of sophisticated financial models and business cases that underpin our outcome-based solutions, driving high-value transformation for one of the world’s premier business & technology consulting organisations. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between complex technology solutions and the boardroom bottom line. Your objective is to help clients transition from questioning the technology to understanding its economic worth. This involves building robust financial models and outcome-based narratives that withstand high-level corporate governance.
In this role, you will act as a Value Engineer, leveraging your qualified accountant status and Better Business Cases™ certification to build rigorous financial models and Five-Case investment proposals. You will be the architect behind our outcome-based solutions, translating technology capabilities into the quantified business value required by one of the world’s leading consulting firms.
Core Responsibilities:- Value Architecture: Lead discovery workshops with C-suite stakeholders to identify business pain points and map them to technological outcomes.
- Financial Modelling: Build sophisticated ROI, TCO, and NPV models. Ensure all business cases align with formal accounting standards and investment appraisal techniques.
- Outcome-Based Narratives: Transform technical features into strategic stories. Define the "cost of inaction" to create investment cases for multi-million-pound digital transformations.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor throughout the deal lifecycle. Ensure that promised value is measurable, auditable, and realisable during delivery.
- Commercial Benchmarking: Use industry data and KPIs to quantify potential improvements in working capital, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Professional Qualification: Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). The ability to communicate effectively with a CFO is critical.
- Consulting Pedigree: A minimum of 5 years of experience within management consulting, value engineering, or pre-sales for a major firm such as the Big 4, Accenture, IBM, Salesforce, or SAP.
- Analytical Skillset: Advanced proficiency in building complex, driver-based financial models in Excel.
- Methodologies: Familiarity with value-selling frameworks such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, or ValueSelling.
- Technical Literacy: A strong understanding of how Cloud, AI, and ERP landscapes drive commercial value.
- Communication: Proven ability to present complex financial investment cases to CEO and Board-level audiences.
This role sits at the heart of the firm’s growth engine. You will influence the strategic direction of FTSE 100 clients and work on the most complex transformation deals in the current market. The position offers a clear trajectory for professional development within a high-visibility team.
