This is an opportunity to join a high-growth Technology Strategy practice within a leading global consultancy. The team operates as a dedicated advisory partner to CIOs and CTOs, moving beyond delivery to shape the strategic direction of large-scale digital estates and multi-billion-pound transformation programmes.
The practice is seeking experienced consultants from Senior Consultant to Manager level to lead engagements across the full technology lifecycle. Unlike delivery-heavy roles, this position focuses on the 'Day Zero' strategic decisions that define how global organisations leverage technology for competitive advantage. You will work across a diverse portfolio, including FTSE 100 enterprises and major public sector departments.
Core Advisory PillarsYou will be expected to lead or contribute to workstreams across four primary areas:
- Technology Operating Model (TOM): Designing and implementing modern, agile-aligned IT organisations.
- Cloud & Digital Advisory: Shaping cloud-native strategies and evaluating the business case for large-scale migrations (Azure/GCP/AWS).
- IT M&A: Managing technology due diligence, post-merger integration (PMI), and separation/carve-out strategies.
- IT Cost & Value Optimisation: Analysing technology spend to identify efficiencies, rationalise application portfolios, and improve ROI on digital investments.
- Defining multi-year technology roadmaps and transformation blueprints.
- Advising C-suite stakeholders on emerging technology adoption, including Data ecosystems and AI.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to assess complex technology landscapes and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Contributing to practice development, including the creation of thought leadership and participation in bids and proposals.
- Professional Pedigree: Significant experience within a Tier-1 or Big 4 consulting environment, or a specialist technology strategy boutique.
- Strategic Depth: Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into commercial business cases for senior non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical Breadth: A strong understanding of modern technology environments, including cloud architectures, DevOps, and data platforms.
- Academic Excellence: A strong degree from a leading university is expected.
This role offers a distinct alternative to the rigid structures of the largest global firms. It provides a more entrepreneurial environment where consultants have greater visibility, faster progression tracks, and the opportunity to influence the growth of the practice. The focus remains on high-value advisory work rather than long-term staff augmentation or PMO-heavy delivery.
