We are seeking a Technical Assurance (Design) Engineer to support the delivery and assurance of engineering design across a major infrastructure programme. This role will work closely with technical teams to ensure engineering deliverables meet required standards, project assurance requirements and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assurance and delivery of engineering services, ensuring alignment with technical assurance requirements and provide guidance/support to technical teams to enhance their understanding of technical assurance requirements.
  • Understanding the client Environmental and Sustainability Policies, processes & statutory requirements and ensure implementation of environmental and sustainability requirements on the project.
  • Understanding and ensure compliance with HS2 requirements for project assurance.
  • Promoting best practices within the technical teams and influence a culture of continuous improvement to enhance overall project performance.
  • Approving Contract deliverables to ensure technical quality and compliance.
  • Liaising with and ensure consistency and standards across the Group Technical Teams.
  • Support to Technical Leads (TL’s) and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the technical team.
  • Participate collaboratively and effectively with Area design teams, project leadership and subcontractors.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with legal and contractual requirements with support from the technical leadership team.
  • Undertake progress reviews, tracking and reporting of assured deliverables and associated certification.
  • Ensure the collation of completion evidence documentation and accurate final certificates for assured deliverables.
  • Produce information for the Management Review with Senior Management and ensure the quality management system remains suitable, adequate and effective, reporting all quality issues to the client.
  • Guide and support client subcontractors to achieve compliance with technical standards.
  • Analyse individual non-conformances to identify trends, root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review client requirements for project quality assurance.
  • Support the development of the interface matrix with the Technical Leads and support HS2 technical assurance team with the give gets management process.
  • Liaising with asset leads to understand construction sequencing and provide supporting certification.
  • Prepare written reports and documentation in support of assurance certification.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a design, assurance or engineering support role.
  • Experience working within engineering or infrastructure project environments.
  • Understanding of technical assurance, quality assurance or design review processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

Additional Information

  • Rail or HS2 experience is not essential, although infrastructure project experience would be beneficial.
