As part of our expanding Global Engineering and Scientific consulting team, you will work at the forefront of today’s most complex engineering and scientific challenges. You will be engaged in analyzing failures of a myriad of products across a variety of industries: automotive, construction, consumer products, consumer electronics, and medical devices. Secretariat leverages our diverse technical expertise and industry knowledge to provide clients with world‑class value in identifying solutions that drive performance and safety.
This Manager role is an all‑encompassing role that incorporates the management of client assignments, proactively identifying and participating in networking, and eventually business development activities.
Requirements:
- Exceptional analytical skills, problem solving, communication skills, and creativity.
- Conduct hands‑on failure analysis investigations.
- Plan and execute laboratory tests.
- Assist with field inspections.
- Communicate with clients, and counsel.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports.
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues, peers, and clients.
- Participate in the preparation of hearings, trials, and mediations.
- Manage the day‑to‑day requirements of multiple engagements.
- Provide project management and project budget oversight.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D./Sci.D or advanced degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or related science.
- Experimental and/or computational research background focused in the areas of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, or another related field.
- Strong data and process analytics skills including the use of commercial tools (e.g., MATLAB, Aspen) to manage large data sets and solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Intellectual curiosity with a passion to investigate and explore a vast array of problems, both within and outside of their area of technical specialization.
- Strong deductive reasoning skills.
- Able to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems.
- The desire to lead tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm.
- The ability to travel as needed.
- Previous industry experience, including co‑op, work/study, or internship, is highly valued.
- Chartered Engineer highly valued, but not required.
- Dual‑language fluency valued, but not required.
