About The Job

A&M offers professional services across Restructuring, Transaction Advisory, Performance Improvement, Corporate Transformation, Financial Institutions Advisory, Tax, Valuations, and Disputes and Investigation Services. We work with leading Financial Services Institutions across Europe and focus on four core areas: Performance Improvement, Loan Portfolio Advisory, Bank Restructuring, and Regulatory Advisory. We seek a Risk & Regulatory specialist at the Director level to lead retail conduct risk topics such as Consumer Duty, product governance, treating customers fairly, vulnerable customers, disclosures and transparency, affordability and creditworthiness, with an entrepreneurial approach to business development.

Location: Park House, London.

Purpose: Build the profile and reputation of A&M in identification of Risk & Regulatory initiatives within Financial Services; act as a business-savvy, solution-focused trusted advisor who challenges the status quo.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver retail conduct risk related advice and solutions; take ownership of related projects; reflect operational distinctiveness of A&M; act as a trusted advisor to clients and challenge the status-quo.
  • Engage with clients ranging from private equity firms to banks and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop business within the Risk & Regulatory team and contribute to the firm’s growth; build internal and external networks across the financial services community.
  • Lead and contribute to client-related activities including policy design, regulation interpretation, and due diligence to support transactions.
  • Review and implement Consumer Duty across multiple sub-sectors (banking, asset & wealth management, insurance, etc.).

Examples Of Client-related Activities Include

  • Review and implement Consumer Duty across sub-sectors; assess impact on business lines and products.
  • Risk assessments identifying elevated conduct risk by business unit and product.
  • Design or review conduct-related policies and procedures.
  • Interpret regulations and assess impact on strategy, revenue, distribution, and broader issues.
  • Due diligence of retail conduct risk for buyouts.
  • Benchmarking best practices and regulatory implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience in Financial Services, especially UK regulatory expectations in conduct and related areas; may come from compliance, Consultancy/Big 4 Advisory, or a Regulatory body.
  • Strong academic background and professional qualifications.
  • Consulting toolkit: framing business issues, using data to test hypotheses, Excel-based business modeling, and creating presentations/reports (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Additional European languages are desirable.
