Principal Consultant – Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Role Overview

As a Principal Consultant within the Systems Insights & Solutions team, you will lead projects that enable clients to deliver new products through PLM solutions, with a primary focus on Digital Engineering.

You will work in complex environments alongside vendors and partner consultancies to design and deploy end‑to‑end PLM solutions that align with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead PLM implementation projects, ensuring delivery of end‑to‑end solutions supporting all product lifecycle phases.
  • Transform clients through programme delivery, defining business operating models and processes.
  • Support business change activities to drive adoption and integration of PLM tools.
  • Act as the liaison between clients and Systems Integrators, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Travel to client sites as required; the role may be based from Bristol, London (Victoria), or Manchester and involves 2–5 days on site per week.
  • Provide executive‑level consultation to build alignment on PLM transformation vision and support the sales process.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • 10+ years of PLM experience, working with major PLM vendors; Siemens experience is an advantage.
  • Deep hands‑on expertise in core PLM processes including BOM management, change/configuration, variant/options management, systems engineering, CAD/CAE integration, ALM, and maintenance/performance support.
  • Strong business acumen with experience shaping business cases and implementation roadmaps for PLM investments.
  • Prior consulting experience, including stakeholder management and delivery oversight.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in engineering or a related subject.
  • Industry experience in defence or other discrete manufacturing practices.
