Our client is a leading organisation within the specialist commercial vehicle sector and is looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join their growing team in Cam, Dursley.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of the people function, providing both strategic and operational HR support across the business.
You will play a key role in shaping HR initiatives, supporting managers, driving recruitment, and ensuring best practice across all areas of human resources.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment across manufacturing, workshop and office-based teams and is confident operating autonomously while building strong relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment and selection process.
- Support payroll processes and wider people operations.
- Develop, review and improve HR policies, systems and procedures.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes and performance management.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.
- Manage and develop the performance appraisal process.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate learning initiatives.
- Produce HR reports and metrics to support business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across the organisation.
About You
- CIPD Level 5 qualified as a minimum.
- Previous experience working as an HR Manager or in a similar senior HR position.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing HR metrics and reporting.
- Confident supporting a diverse workforce across office, workshop and manufacturing environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Experience using Access People HR would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Able to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Self-motivated, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
