We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established haulage operator for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their workshop team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a Monday to Friday day-shift role, offering a stable workload, modern facilities, and long-term job security. You will be working on a well-maintained fleet of HGV units and trailers in a professional, well-organised workshop environment.
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum OTE
Hours: Monday to Friday | Day Shift | 40 hours per week

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, and repair of a modern fleet of HGV units and trailers. The role is primarily workshop-based with minimal external work. You will also have access to MIG and TIG welding facilities, making this an excellent opportunity for mechanics with fabrication and welding experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGV units and trailers
- MOT preparation and defect rectification
- Welding and fabrication work, including drilling and cutting
- Tyre repairs and tyre changes
- Attending breakdowns when required
- Managing bookings for external maintenance work
- Operating the roller brake tester and maintaining brake test schedules
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with road safety and legal compliance
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good diagnostic and technical knowledge (TEXA experience preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience advantageous
- Own hand tools
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
