We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading vehicle logistics and automotive services company for an experienced HGV Technician to join their operation in Doncaster. Our client operates within the automotive and vehicle logistics sector, providing a range of services to major vehicle manufacturers, dealerships and automotive businesses. Due to continued demand, they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their night-shift maintenance team.

The Role

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
  • Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Carrying out MOT preparation and associated repairs where required
  • Using diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults
  • Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard and remain roadworthy
  • Completing maintenance records and relevant documentation
  • Working safely and in line with company procedures and industry regulations
  • Supporting the wider workshop and operations team
  • Responding to vehicle defects and breakdown-related maintenance when required

Shift Patterns & Pay

  • 4 Nights Per Week
  • 18:00 - 06:30 Monday - Friday Nights
  • Pay: £22.50 - £24.00 per hour

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HGV Technician with a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance. You should have:

  • Previous experience as an HGV / LGV Technician
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing HGVs or commercial vehicles
  • Good understanding of vehicle safety and roadworthiness
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A professional and reliable approach
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent are desirable
