HGV Mechanic – DAF Trained South Yorkshire | Up to £60,000 DOE | Permanent Shift Pattern Monday – Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm Saturday: 7:00am – 12:00pm on a rota basis Our client, a well-established and highly regarded waste management business in South Yorkshire, is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their busy workshop team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have strong DAF experience and training, together with a solid background in the maintenance, servicing and repair of heavy commercial vehicles. The Role As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of a varied commercial vehicle fleet. Key Responsibilities * Maintaining and repairing the company's HGV and commercial vehicle fleet * Preparing vehicles for MOT and presenting them for test * Using diagnostic equipment to identify and repair faults * Attending vehicle breakdowns as required * Replacing wheels and carrying out re-torquing * Carrying out vehicle inspections in line with Operator Licence requirements * Completing running repairs and preventative maintenance * Completing all relevant paperwork and job cards * Working effectively as part of a busy workshop team * Supporting colleagues and assisting in other areas of the business when required Qualifications & Licences * NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent – preferred What's on Offer? * Up to £60,000 per year, dependent on experience * Permanent position * 28 days' annual leave, including 8 bank/public holidays * Workplace pension scheme * Long-term opportunity with an established and successful business * Varied fleet and interesting workload * Stable Monday-to-Friday working pattern with a Saturday rota If you're an experienced HGV Mechanic with DAF experience looking for a secure, long-term opportunity in South Yorkshire, we'd love to hear from you
