A reputable organisation within the transport and engineering sector is currently seeking an experienced Senior PSV Technician to join their maintenance operation in Cardiff. The Role
As a Senior PSV Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of Passenger Service Vehicles (PSVs), ensuring fleet safety, reliability, and full compliance with regulatory standards. You will also support junior technicians and help maintain high workshop standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on PSVs
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
- Ensure all work complies with DVSA and health & safety requirements
- Support and mentor junior technicians where required
- Complete inspections, defect reports, and workshop documentation
- Minimise vehicle downtime through effective fault diagnosis
- Work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a PSV Technician (HGV experience also considered)
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Good understanding of PSV safety inspections and compliance
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent industry experience
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Senior or supervisory technician experience
- PSV Inspection, IRTEC, or similar certifications
- Experience mentoring apprentices or junior technicians
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment
