We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing commercial vehicle engineering business based in Leyland.

Our client is a recognised specialist in the maintenance, servicing and repair of municipal and refuse collection vehicles, providing high-quality engineering solutions to customers across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hydraulic Engineer to join a professional workshop, offering £18.00 - £21.00 per hour, a Monday to Friday day shift, regular overtime paid at time and a half, and excellent long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic faults on refuse collection vehicles.
  • Service and replace hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses and associated components.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Complete mechanical repairs where required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience working with hydraulic systems.
  • Experience working on refuse vehicles, HGVs, municipal vehicles, plant machinery or other heavy equipment is advantageous.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
