We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing commercial vehicle engineering business based in Leyland. Our client is a recognised specialist in the maintenance, servicing and repair of municipal and refuse collection vehicles, providing high-quality engineering solutions to customers across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hydraulic Engineer to join a professional workshop, offering £18.00 - £21.00 per hour, a Monday to Friday day shift.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair hydraulic faults on refuse collection vehicles.
- Service and replace hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses and associated components.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
- Complete mechanical repairs where required.
- Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
- Proven experience working with hydraulic systems.
- Experience working on refuse vehicles, HGVs, municipal vehicles, plant machinery or other heavy equipment is advantageous.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- £18.00 - £21.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
- 8:00am starts.
- Overtime paid at time and a half.
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Two paid 15-minute breaks each day.
