A leading local authority is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their dedicated and friendly transport team. This is a diverse and hands-on role, working across a fleet of heavy and light commercial vehicles, including specialist vehicles such as refuse collection and road sweepers.
You will carry out:
- Maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Work on electrical and hydraulic systems
- Welding and fabrication tasks as required
- Participation in an out-of-hours call-out standby rota, with competitive standby and call-out pay
There is also the opportunity to work overtime on bank holidays, allowing for additional earnings.
Candidate Requirements
- City & Guilds Level 1, 2, and 3 (or equivalent NVQ) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Proven experience working on HGV vehicles
- Experience with specialist vehicles is desirable but not essential
- Full HGV licence with DCPC is advantageous (training can be provided for the right candidate)
