Permanent Position | £19–£21 per hour | Overtime at Enhanced rate
Monday–Thursday: 7:00am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pm
Our client, a well-established organisation within the refuse and heavy vehicle industry, is continuing to grow and is seeking skilled HGV Technicians/Mechanics to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term, stable position with strong development prospects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Pre-MOT inspections and repair any defects.
- Perform vehicle inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs to DVSA standards.
- Diagnose faults accurately and report findings to the Workshop Lead/Supervisor.
- Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime.
- Rectify hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Independently manage routine servicing and attend site breakdowns when required.
- Work with the parts department to ensure correct components are sourced.
- Complete all paperwork accurately, including inspection sheets and timesheets.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards of vehicles and workshop areas.
- Prioritise tasks effectively and meet strict deadlines.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an HGV workshop.
- Full car driving licence (minimum).
- HGV licence – desirable.
- IRTEC or HGV inspection qualification – desirable.
