A respected, national fire safety provider is expanding its operations and seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Damper Engineer / Account Manager to take ownership of the South West region. The business specialises in fire damper testing, remedial works, and life safety system compliance across commercial portfolios and government/MOD estates.
This is a key strategic hire, responsible for developing the South West region, managing MOD and commercial clients, and ultimately helping to build and lead a regional engineering team.
This senior hybrid role blends technical expertise with client management and regional development. You will lead fire damper testing, inspections, remedial works, and compliance documentation across a mix of MOD sites (requiring security clearance) and large commercial buildings throughout the South West.
In addition to hands-on work, you will act as the main client contact for your region—managing relationships, ensuring service delivery, and supporting the company’s growth strategy. As the workload increases, you will play a key part in recruiting, mentoring, and managing future engineers in the South West.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out and oversee fire damper testing, inspections, and remedial work across MOD and commercial sites
- Act as main point of contact for regional clients, ensuring high standards of communication and service
- Produce accurate service and inspection reports aligned with MOD compliance requirements
- Support the development of the South West region and help coordinate workloads
- Assist with recruitment and future leadership of a South West engineering team
- Ensure all work complies with security protocols, safety standards, and company procedures
- Represent the company professionally and maintain strong client relationships
- NVQ Level 3 (mandatory)
- 5+ years’ experience in fire damper testing, remedial works, or broader fire safety systems
- Experience working on commercial properties; MOD experience advantageous
- Ability to obtain or currently hold MOD security clearance
- Strong documentation, compliance awareness, and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, reliable, and comfortable working independently and client-facing
- Salary up to £42,000 + performance-based OTE
