Help shape the future of patient access to innovative medicines across the UK and Ireland. In this influential role, you’ll lead health technology appraisal (HTA), pricing and reimbursement strategies that support better outcomes for patients, the NHS and healthcare partners.
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced market access professional to lead national HTA activity across a portfolio of current and future brands. You’ll combine health economics expertise, strategic thinking and strong stakeholder relationships to develop high-quality submissions and influence the policy and clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HTA submission strategies and deliver national submissions through NICE, SMC, AWMSG and NCPE.
- Develop and execute pricing, reimbursement and access strategies for the UK and Ireland.
- Coordinate core submission teams, creating clear project plans, deliverables and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, European and global teams to ensure UK and Ireland access requirements are reflected in strategy.
- Work with health economics colleagues to deliver robust economic models, constructively challenging assumptions where needed.
- Provide expert guidance on HTA policies, methodologies and economic evaluation concepts.
- Lead consultations involving clinical guidelines, therapeutic areas, quality standards and competitor activity.
- Build effective relationships with HTA bodies, payers, regional decision-makers, healthcare organisations and other external stakeholders.
- Develop networks across health economics and pricing and reimbursement to strengthen insight into clinical practice and inform submissions.
- Support regional business cases and the development of tools and training for Field Access Managers.
- Contribute to pharmacovigilance compliance by working with local Safety colleagues where required.
Must-Have
- Substantial health economics experience within the pharmaceutical industry or consultancy.
- Experience of health technology appraisal submissions and economic evaluation concepts.
- Detailed understanding of health economics within the NHS and pharmaceutical industry.
- Working knowledge of the UK political and healthcare policy environment.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver work at business-unit level complexity.
- Strong project management, analytical, writing, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Collaborative, proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and take initiative.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Nice-to-Have
- Understanding of immunology, neurology or rare diseases.
- Experience in patient access for high-cost medicines.
