Zachary Daniels Finance is recruiting an experienced Interim Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury for a private equity-backed consumer business undergoing significant growth and transformation.
This is an initial six-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend, requiring someone who can make an immediate impact.
The immediate priority is cash.
We're looking for someone who has operated within a leveraged, private equity-backed environment and understands the importance of cash visibility, liquidity, working capital and financial discipline.
You'll need to combine exceptional financial modelling capabilities with the commercial judgement to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business where priorities can change quickly.
Alongside these immediate responsibilities, you'll support the group's wider acquisition strategy through financial analysis, modelling and due diligence.
The Role
Working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of key treasury, cash management and corporate finance activities.
Responsibilities will include
- Taking ownership of daily and weekly cash management, liquidity monitoring and financial controls.
- Developing robust short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts, providing clear visibility of funding requirements.
- Leading working capital initiatives to improve cash generation and financial performance.
- Managing debt facilities, banking relationships, financial covenant reporting and lender requirements.
- Supporting the development of group foreign exchange and hedging strategies.
- Building and maintaining sophisticated financial models to support cash forecasting, business planning and investment decisions.
- Providing financial modelling, valuation and analytical support for potential acquisitions and related due diligence.
- Improving treasury processes, reporting and financial controls across an evolving group structure.
- Working directly with senior stakeholders to identify financial risks, challenge assumptions and support commercial decision-making.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience in private equity-backed businesses, strong financial modelling capabilities and a proven understanding of cash management.
Your background could include
- An experienced Group Financial Controller or senior finance leader from a PE-backed business, with substantial responsibility for cash forecasting, liquidity, working capital and lender reporting.
- A Head of Treasury or senior treasury professional with extensive experience operating within a leveraged, PE-backed environment.
- A former Big Four Corporate Finance or Deals Advisory professional with outstanding financial modelling capabilities, relevant PE exposure and the ability to apply those skills within an operational business.
You’ll ideally be ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent, with at least five years' experience in senior finance or relevant advisory positions.
Essential capabilities include
- Strong experience of private equity-backed or leveraged business environments.
- Exceptional financial modelling and forecasting skills.
- Deep understanding of cash flow, liquidity, working capital and financial performance.
- The ability to identify financial risks, work with complex information and develop practical solutions.
- Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders, investors and finance leadership.
- A hands‑on, commercially focused approach, with the ability to take ownership quickly.
Experience of M&A, acquisition modelling, valuations or financial due diligence would be advantageous, but direct transaction experience is not essential where candidates demonstrate exceptional PE-backed cash management and modelling expertise.
Consumer goods, FMCG, wholesale or distribution experience would also be beneficial, although relevant experience from other sectors will be considered.
The Individual
This is a demanding appointment within an entrepreneurial business undergoing considerable change.
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong commercial instincts, exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to challenge constructively.
You’ll be pragmatic, resilient and comfortable working at pace, with the ability to move between detailed financial analysis and senior-level decision-making.
Above all, you’ll be someone who can deliver from day one, rather than requiring an extended period to become effective.
- Location & Package
- Salary: £130,000-£140,000 annualised, pro rata for the initial six months, dependent on experience.
- Contract: Initial six-month FTC, with the potential to extend.
- Location: Central London, predominantly office-based, with occasional UK travel.
- Start Date: Early November 2026, ideally Monday 2 November. Immediate availability is essential.
- Equal Opportunities Statement
Zachary Daniels is an equal opportunities employer.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and are committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process for everyone.
