At Consult, we build leadership teams that shape the future of healthcare and are looking for a Managing Director to lead the next chapter of our growth. Consult is a global MedTech search partner with 25 years of market experience, deep sector knowledge, and long-standing industry relationships. We support CEOs, leadership teams and key stakeholders across healthcare in building teams that enable growth and scale.

Since joining the Compass Recruitment Solutions Group, we are growing at 40% year-on-year from our unique market presence, an award-winning team and with the support of PE backing and the strength of the other healthcare specialist brands of the CRS. We believe transformational growth starts with aligned leadership. Get that right, and everything else follows. We don’t simply place individuals; we shape leadership structures, succession pathways and executive teams that define how organisations grow. This is what we call the Architecture of Success - the link between a single strategic hire and sustained, enterprise-level value creation.

With our ambition growth plans, we are now looking for a Managing Director who can support both our UK growth plans and our international expansion with a primary focus on North America. This isn’t a steady-state appointment. The challenge isn’t keeping the wheels turning; it’s continuously upgrading our commercial strategy, our operational platform and our leadership capability to support sustained growth across multiple geographies.

What will the Managing Director do?

  • Full P&L for a high-growth, internationally expanding portfolio
  • Strategic direction for the brand across the UK and new geographies
  • International expansion, with a clear mandate to build out our North American footprint
  • Operational scale-up — the systems, infrastructure and senior team needed to support 40%+ YoY growth without compromising delivery quality
  • Senior leadership development — building and coaching the team that will deliver the next phase

You’ll partner closely with the CEO on Group-level commercial strategy, investor engagement and the long-term shape of the business.

What are we looking for in our new Managing Director?

  • A minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience within the recruitment industry
  • A proven track record of P&L ownership and delivering against ambitious commercial targets
  • Demonstrable experience in global markets, ideally with a strong track record in North America
  • Executive leadership experience within PE-backed environments, or within high-growth professional services recruitment
  • An operator who values high accountability, clear metrics and the chance to build something that lasts
  • Someone who leads from the front, experienced in building, executing and growing businesses

What will you get in return?

The opportunity to lead a category-defining brand through its most ambitious phase yet. Full P&L authority. Direct partnership with a CEO who’s built and scaled businesses before. The backing, infrastructure and accreditations of an award-winning, Investors in People (Gold) recruitment group. And a remit that genuinely lets you shape what comes next.

What are the next steps?

For a confidential conversation, please get in touch with Nik Harvey (Global Head of Talent, Compass Recruitment Solutions) at nharvey@compassltd.co.uk. All approaches will be treated in the strictest confidence.
