Job Title – In Vivo Services Lead Location: Cambridge, UK Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £40k basic plus 5% bonus Scope A global life sciences organisation is seeking a dedicated In Vivo Services Lead to manage the daily operations of an on-site in vivo research services team based in Cambridge, UK . This is a hands-on leadership role within a regulated preclinical research environment , offering the opportunity to make a real impact on ethical animal research and scientific progress. The successful candidate will lead a team providing a range of essential services including animal care, facility compliance, waste and consumables management, and equipment coordination, all while ensuring compliance with AAALAC, IACUC, and UK legislation. Responsibilities: Lead a team supporting in vivo research operations, ensuring excellence in animal welfare and scientific service delivery Oversee day-to-day activities such as husbandry support, consumables, waste handling, enrichment activities, and equipment needs Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, aligning service delivery with scientific objectives Ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory standards (AAALAC, IACUC, UK Home Office regulations) Maintain robust operational records, SOPs, and documentation for audits and quality reviews Champion continuous improvement through Lean principles, service innovations, and team development Monitor performance metrics and contribute to strategic service enhancements Ensure training, health and safety, and team wellbeing practices are upheld About You: PhD (or equivalent experience) in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, or related field preferred Significant experience in an in vivo/preclinical research setting Active or previous UK Personal Licence (PIL) strongly preferred Proven track record managing or leading teams in regulated animal research environments Familiarity with AAALAC standards , IACUC procedures , and UK animal welfare legislation Proficient in Lean or continuous improvement methodologies Skilled in data reporting, documentation, and IT systems used in laboratory or research facilities Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent stakeholder communication Organised, solutions-focused, and collaborative approach If you\’re interested in the above role then please click apply or get in touch to discuss further.
