Location: Skelmersdale (On-Site Role)

Salary: Up to £38k plus 22% Shift Premium

Working Hours: Morning: Mon to Thur - 6am - 2pm / Fri - 6am - 11.30am / Afternoon: Mon to Thur - 2pm - 10pm / Fri - 11am - 4.35pm

Scope: Are you a technically skilled Maintenance Technician with an electrical background, looking to make an impact in a high-performing manufacturing environment? We are looking for an experienced individual to join a leading production facility in Skelmersdale. This role offers the chance to collaborate with innovative teams, optimise systems, and ensure production excellence. Overtime is often available.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering both preventive maintenance and reactive repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Ensuring production targets are consistently met by minimising downtime and defects.
  • Tracking and reporting process improvement results.
  • Carrying out in-line quality checks and using Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
  • Analysing operational data to diagnose faults and develop targeted improvement plans.
  • Supporting the development of finished goods in line with quality, cost, and scheduling goals.
  • Promoting a culture of Health and Safety across the team and site.
  • Mentoring and training junior staff with a positive, collaborative approach.
  • Sharing best practices internally and externally to support business-wide improvements.
  • Building effective cross-functional relationships with engineering, operations, and quality teams.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in technical production support within a manufacturing environment.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (training may be offered).
  • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and servo systems.
  • PLC diagnostics experience (Omron preferred).
  • Experience with automated assembly lines and robotic systems (ABB desirable).
  • Able to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to work night shifts on rare occasions, if required.
  • Familiarity with following SOPs and structured training processes.
