Exciting Opportunity for a Junior Engineer! Are you a technically minded individual looking to kick-start your career in engineering and medical technology? Our client, a market leader in imaging solutions, is seeking a Junior Service Engineer to join their team in Gormanston, County Meath. This is a site-based role with no travel required, but due to the office location, a car is necessary for site access. It is ideal for a recent graduate or an early-career professional with an electronics or technical background who is eager to develop within a specialist engineering position.
About the Role
As a Junior Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of imaging equipment, including ultrasound, x-ray and endoscopy equipment. Over an 18+ month training period, you will receive comprehensive product training to support the full range of systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Repairs – Provide on-site service support, including breakdown assistance, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing.
- Customer Service Excellence – Work alongside the customer care team to deliver outstanding service and strengthen brand presence in Ireland.
- Inventory & Supplier Management – Manage spare parts and stock levels, ensuring timely repairs in collaboration with suppliers.
- Process Improvement – Support the Service Manager in optimizing service workflows and improving efficiencies.
- After-Sales Support – Maintain a seamless link between after-sales service, x-ray, ultrasound, and medical equipment.
- Administrative Duties – Assist with service-related documentation and general admin tasks as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Higher Certificate (Level 6) or equivalent in a technical or science-based field (Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline)
- Background in electronics or a relevant technical area
- Strong troubleshooting skills and technical problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Full driver’s license and car required for site access
