Are you a Quality Manager looking for a new challenge within a UK manufacturing organisation? We have a fantastic opportunity available due to an internal restructure and ongoing growth and development for a Quality Manager to join a well-established manufacturing and distribution business, based in Stoke on Trent.
As the Quality Manager you will support the continued growth of the business by providing clear ownership and direction to the development and maintenance of the management systems. You will be operating across various sites in the area and another overseas. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will bring senior management capabilities alongside a hands-on approach to the business where you will provide support and mentorship to your direct reports and individuals based across all sites.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Maintenance of the ISO9001/EN9100/AS9100D QMS and development of QMS to meet business and customer requirements.
- Contract review/technical review of orders and customer specifications.
- Interpretation of international standards for materials and testing, and their implementation as appropriate within the Langley Alloys business.
- Control of NCR’s and complaints.
- Assessment and review of supplier performance and perform key supplier audits and support to achieve zero-defect delivery performance.
- Review of material purchase specifications.
- Development, control and training of internal testing activities e.g. UT, dye penetrant, hardness.
- Internal systems auditing and facilitation of External audits across multiple sites.
- Provide Quality leadership to teams in UK and USA.
- Identification, provision and/or coordination of quality, knowledge- and skill‑based training for employees.
- Draft and issue procedures, processes, technical specifications, etc to support the QMS and business requirements.
- Define requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance.
- Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback.
- Manage and deploy continuous improvement initiatives including Lean and Six Sigma.
- Management of Goods Inwards activities.
Experience Required:
- Proven record in a QM role.
- You will have strong leadership skills, ability to learn and apply new legislation and overcome obstacles.
- Effective time management, prioritisation, and planning abilities.
- Ability to travel, within the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Experience with mechanical testing procedures.
- Experience working in Oil and Gas sectors an advantage.
- Experience of CNC Machining processes highly desirable.
- Experience of requirements for the defence industry - desirable.
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of quality standards and implementation (ISO9001, AS9100, Joscar, Cyber Essentials).
- Trained ISO Internal Auditor.
- Lean/Six Sigma Qualifications - Desirable.
