Are you a detail-driven leader with a passion for delivering efficient preconstruction processes in the utilities sector? We’re seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end preconstruction function, from initial enquiry to design approval. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure timely delivery, cost-effective design solutions, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all preconstruction activities from tender enquiry through to design approval.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of enquiries and design approvals (target: 4–6 weeks).
  • Collaborate with design teams, DNOs/iDNOs, and suppliers to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing preconstruction team.
  • Liaise with internal teams (construction, commercial, admin) to ensure smooth project handovers.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of the construction and utilities industry.
  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Familiarity with the Preconstruction phase of a project.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Effective leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
