This is a commercially focused technical sales and business development position, combining new business acquisition, territory development, key account management and consultative solution selling across a diverse industrial customer base.

The Opportunity

Taking ownership of the West Midlands sales territory, you will be responsible for developing revenue across both existing and prospective customers. This is a genuine sales growth role. You will identify target accounts, prospect new customers, generate leads, develop relationships, uncover engineering projects, build a strong sales pipeline and convert technical opportunities into profitable long-term business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • New business development and customer acquisition
  • Territory sales and regional market development
  • Key account management and account growth
  • OEM sales and machine-builder development
  • Consultative and solution-based selling

  • Lead generation and opportunity development
  • Building and managing a strong sales pipeline
  • Identifying project and specification opportunities
  • Conducting customer visits, technical meetings and presentations
  • Managing quotations, proposals and commercial negotiations
  • Developing strategic accounts and increasing share of wallet
  • Identifying cross-selling and wider solution opportunities
  • Sales forecasting and territory planning
  • Converting opportunities from initial engagement through to order
  • Building long-term commercial and technical partnerships

The Engineering Environment

You will be developing sales opportunities across customers operating within:

  • Machine building and special-purpose machinery
  • Materials handling and intralogistics
  • Conveyor and conveying systems
  • Packaging and processing machinery
  • Bulk materials handling
  • Recycling and environmental engineering
  • Pumps, fans and process machinery

  • Warehousing and distribution automation
  • General manufacturing and industrial OEMs

Projects can range from individual mechanical drive and transmission applications through to complete conveyor installations, automated production equipment, materials-handling systems, machine upgrades, retrofit programmes and high-volume OEM projects.

You will engage with customers at application level, understanding requirements around torque, speed, load, duty cycles, drivetrain configuration, machine architecture, operating conditions, reliability, energy efficiency and lifecycle performance.

Typical technology exposure could include: Mechanical Drive Systems | Power Transmission | Gear Technology | Motors | Drives | Bearings | Conveyors | Motion | Automation | Rotating Equipment | Mechanical Components | Industrial Machinery | Engineered Systems.
