This is not a high-pressure sales role. Instead, it is a consultative engineering position where you will work closely with customers to understand applications, solve technical challenges and develop long-term engineering relationships. You will inherit an established territory whilst also identifying opportunities for future growth across the East Midlands region. The business has an excellent track record of developing technically capable engineers into highly successful Field Sales Engineers and will provide extensive product and industry training.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with OEMs, machine builders and industrial end users
- Conduct regular customer visits throughout the East Midlands territory
- Identify new business opportunities and develop existing accounts
- Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate engineering solutions
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
- Work closely with internal engineering and customer support teams
- Generate quotations and follow opportunities through to completion
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline activity
- Attend exhibitions, customer events and industry functions when required
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback
Ideal Candidate

- Mechanical Engineers with customer-facing experience

You will ideally possess:
- A mechanical, electromechanical, mechatronics or engineering qualification
- Previous experience within a customer-facing engineering environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

- Commercial awareness and a desire to progress into technical sales
- A proactive, driven and self-motivated attitude
