The role involves:

  • Managing a defined sales territory covering Scotland & Ireland
  • Developing new business while managing and growing existing accounts
  • Selling mechanical and engineered solutions into industrial customers
  • Working with OEMs, manufacturers, distributors and end users
  • Conducting site visits to assess applications, specifications and operating conditions
  • Preparing and executing a structured Territory Management Plan
  • Working closely with internal sales, applications and technical teams
  • Managing quotations, pipeline and opportunities through a CRM system
  • Providing technical and commercial support to distributors, including joint visits
  • Attending customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events

What they are looking for:

  • Proven experience in external sales, area sales or regional sales
  • Background in industrial sales, engineering sales or technical sales
  • Experience selling into manufacturing, automation, material handling, logistics, food & beverage, packaging, process industry, quarrying, recycling, cement or heavy engineering environments
  • Comfortable selling mechanical components, mechanical systems or engineered solutions
  • A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent)
  • Technically credible, commercially minded and confident engaging with engineers and decision-makers
  • Able to work autonomously across a large geographic territory
  • Full UK driving licence
