This is an opportunity to join a globally established engineering manufacturer whose products are embedded in production lines, logistics systems, and automated processes across a wide range of industries. The business designs and manufactures technically advanced industrial solutions used in sectors such as food processing, packaging, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, automation, and material handling. Known for product quality, application expertise, and long-term customer relationships, the UK operation is well supported, stable, and focused on sustainable growth rather than short-term sales targets.
As part of continued investment in the South East, the business is now looking to appoint a Sales Account Manager to manage and develop customer relationships across the region.
The role
This is a field-based role combining account management with ongoing business development. You will be responsible for managing an established customer base while identifying opportunities to expand product usage, improve applications, and introduce new solutions. Much of the role involves visiting customer sites, understanding production processes, and working collaboratively with engineers, maintenance teams, production managers, and buyers. The position is consultative and solution-led, involving technical discussions around industrial components, production equipment, automation interfaces, and operational efficiency. You will be supported by internal engineering, service, and operational teams, allowing you to focus on customer engagement and territory development.
The person
This role will appeal to individuals with experience selling technical products or services into industrial environments. You may work in sales, technical sales, account management, or business development, with exposure to conveyors, belting, power transmission, automation components, MRO products, or broader mechanical engineering solutions. You will be comfortable working autonomously, managing your own territory, and building long-term customer relationships. A structured approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage confidently with technically minded customers are essential.
The opportunity
This role offers a long-term career opportunity within a business that values technical credibility, customer partnerships, and internal collaboration. The territory is well established, with genuine scope to grow accounts and develop deeper customer relationships over time. The business invests in training, product development, and support functions, creating an environment where sales professionals can succeed without excessive pressure or micromanagement.
Location
Covering the South East of England including Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, and surrounding areas. Home-based with regular travel to customer sites.
If you enjoy technical sales, value customer relationships, and want to represent high-quality industrial solutions in a role with autonomy and support, this opportunity is well worth exploring.
