Construo Recruitment is currently working with a well-established roofing contractor in Torquay who are seeking a motivated Roofing Estimator / Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced roofing estimator or a junior candidate looking to build a long‑term career within the construction and roofing sector. Full training and development will be provided for the right individual.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial and pre‑construction process, supporting the business from initial enquiry through to project award. You will be responsible for carrying out site surveys, preparing accurate quotations, and working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth project progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications and tender enquiry documents
  • Attend site visits and carry out roof measurements and surveys
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Support the progression of enquiries through to order stage
  • Work closely with contracts and operational teams to ensure smooth handover
  • Manage multiple enquiries simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing and project documentation

About You

  • Previous experience in roofing, construction, estimating or surveying (preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Confident IT skills including Excel, email and PDF tools
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach
  • Ability to manage workload and multiple priorities
  • Practical understanding of roofing or construction processes (desirable but not essential)
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
