Quantity Surveyor – Passive Fire Protection
Location: Manchester, England, United Kingdom
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000
Construo Recruitment are working with a leading construction and project management company who deliver high-quality building, fit-out, and fire protection projects across the UK.
The Role
We\’re seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with proven knowledge of Passive Fire Protection (PFP) to manage the financial and contractual elements of their PFP projects. You\’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, compliantly, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of Passive Fire Protection projects from tender to final account.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, cost plans, and contract documentation.
- Undertake site visits, valuations, and cost reporting.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate project delivery.
- Support project managers and the fire protection team with commercial insight and cost control.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvements.
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Knowledge and experience in Passive Fire Protection works (fire stopping, compartmentation, Fire Doors).
- Strong understanding of contracts (JCT/NEC) and cost management processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent experience (RICS accreditation desirable).
