A leading construction and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a major project based in Cumbria. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile infrastructure scheme, supporting the project team in delivering strong commercial performance across live works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, valuations, forecasting and contract administration while ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial resources to maximise project profitability and contract performance
  • Produce and submit valuations, claims and commercial reporting information
  • Monitor and forecast project costs and financial performance
  • Assess and manage commercial and contractual risks
  • Support effective contract control and commercial administration
  • Maximise cash flow through accurate measurement and valuation of works
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting documentation

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline
  • Previous experience in a commercial role within construction or infrastructure
  • Experience working for a main contractor within transportation or civil engineering projects desirable
  • Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
  • Full UK driving licence
