Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with an award-winning multi-disciplinary building consultancy to recruit an experienced
CAD Technician to join their Building Surveying team based in Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Auto CAD Technician with experience in residential building surveying, architecture or building design to join a respected consultancy delivering projects across the social housing and public sectors.
The Role
As CAD Technician, you will support the Building Surveying team by producing accurate 2D technical drawings, carrying out measured building surveys and assisting in the delivery of refurbishment and building improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
- Carrying out measured building surveys on residential properties
- Producing accurate 2D Auto CAD drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections and technical details
- Interpreting survey information and converting it into precise technical drawings
- Supporting Building Surveyors with layouts, specifications and project documentation
- Ensuring drawings comply with relevant regulations, standards and internal quality procedures
- Maintaining accurate drawing records and project documentation
- Attending site visits to gather measurements and verify survey information
- Working collaboratively with surveyors and project teams to deliver projects on time
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an Auto CAD Technician within building surveying, architecture or building design
- Strong proficiency in 2D Auto CAD
- Good understanding of residential construction methods, building pathology and surveying terminology
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings from measured surveys
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative team
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
- Experience with topographical surveys
- Knowledge of planning applications and planning processes
- Familiarity with BIM or 3D modelling software
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations
- Relevant CAD or technical qualification
