We are supporting a well-established and forward-thinking organisation within the residential property sector in appointing an experienced Area Manager. This opportunity is ideally suited to a Chartered Residential Surveyor looking to step into a leadership role while maintaining a level of technical involvement. The position offers a balanced remit across team leadership, operational oversight, and delivery of professional surveying services.
The Opportunity
You will take on a leadership role within an established regional structure, supporting a team of Residential Surveyors to deliver high standards across quality, service, and performance. Alongside your management responsibilities, you will remain active in the field, undertaking residential valuations and survey work, ensuring you stay close to market conditions and technical delivery. This role will suit someone who enjoys mentoring others, driving standards, and contributing to a collaborative, performance-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing development support to a team of Residential Surveyors
- Monitor and improve performance across quality, turnaround times, and customer outcomes
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication
- Support operational consistency and adherence to professional and regulatory standards
- Contribute to process improvements and implementation of new initiatives
- Maintain personal surveying output through residential valuations and inspection-based reports
Candidate Profile
- AssocRICS (minimum 2 years PQE), MRICS or FRICS
- RICS Registered Valuer status
- Strong background in residential valuations and survey work (e.g. mortgage valuations, Level 2 reports)
- Previous experience mentoring, supervising, or informally leading others
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality and productivity
- Confident communicator with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
Location & Flexibility
The role offers flexibility across London and the surrounding regions, with coverage aligned to key operational areas. Candidates based across North West, Western, and Eastern London corridors will be well positioned.
