We are recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist enabling works contractor who are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking organisation delivering complex land remediation and enabling works projects across the UK.
About the Role
The Excavator Operator will support the Site Manager in the safe and efficient delivery of remediation projects, operating plant machinery and assisting with key site-based activities. This role will involve nationwide travel and regular working away from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators up to 50T in a safe and efficient manner
- Carry out daily machine checks and routine maintenance of plant equipment
- Complete and submit plant inspection and maintenance documentation
- Report any defects, servicing needs, or equipment issues to the Site Manager
- Work collaboratively with site management and follow instructions to deliver project requirements
- Support remediation and enabling works activities as required
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site
About You
- Valid CPCS or NPORS plant operator qualification
- CSCS card holder
- Experience operating excavators in a construction or remediation environment
- Additional plant tickets (dump truck, roller, bulldozer) desirable but not essential
- Experience working with contaminated land or asbestos in soil (CAT B) desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible approach to working away from home nationwide
- Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude
- Full UK driving licence
