A growing construction contractor is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual at the beginning of their surveying career to gain hands-on experience across a range of construction projects while developing their commercial and technical skills within a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will support the senior commercial team with the day-to-day financial management of projects from inception through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
  • Support the commercial management of projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Assist with monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding commercial matters
  • Maintain accurate financial and project records
  • Support senior Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team
  • Assist with procurement and subcontractor management activities
Requirements
  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication and organisational abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates is essential
