Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist roofing, cladding and building envelope contractor to recruit an experienced Technical Surveyor to join their growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded surveying professional with experience in roofing, cladding or the wider building envelope sector to play a key role in delivering complex projects from initial survey through to design coordination and material procurement.

The Role

As Technical Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed site surveys, producing technical layouts, coordinating construction drawings and managing materials procurement to ensure projects are delivered accurately and efficiently.

  • Carrying out detailed measured surveys of roofing and cladding projects across the UK
  • Producing accurate survey notes, sketches and photographic records
  • Translating survey information into technical system layouts and material schedules
  • Coordinating construction drawings with the design team and reviewing drawings prior to issue
  • Liaising with manufacturers, suppliers and project teams to develop technical solutions
  • Producing material schedules and placing orders to meet project programmes
  • Providing technical support to site teams throughout installation
  • Attending site visits and design meetings to resolve technical queries
  • Managing project documentation, drawing registers and procurement records
  • Supporting quality assurance, warranty applications and continuous technical improvement

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Technical Surveyor, Building Surveyor or Roofing/Cladding Surveyor role
  • Strong knowledge of metal roofing, cladding or building envelope systems
  • Experience carrying out measured surveys and producing technical layouts
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Experience coordinating construction drawings and material schedules
  • Good understanding of roofing and cladding installation methods
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
  • AutoCAD knowledge would be advantageous
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
