Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist roofing, cladding and building envelope contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator with a strong background in rainscreen cladding and façade refurbishment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing commercial team, pricing technically challenging refurbishment and fire remediation projects across the commercial and public sectors.

The Role

As Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive tenders for rainscreen cladding and façade refurbishment projects, supporting work from initial enquiry through to successful project handover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for rainscreen cladding and façade refurbishment projects
  • Analysing drawings, specifications and survey information to produce accurate quantity take-offs
  • Pricing ventilated cladding, overcladding, curtain walling and composite panel systems
  • Evaluating tender documents, identifying risks and proposing value engineering solutions
  • Obtaining competitive quotations from manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities and detailed cost breakdowns
  • Carrying out pre-tender surveys and attending site and design team meetings
  • Supporting valuations, variations, procurement and commercial reporting
  • Liaising with clients, architects, engineers and the wider commercial team throughout the tender process
  • Assisting with the smooth handover of successful projects to operational teams

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' estimating experience within the rainscreen cladding, façade or specialist building envelope sector
  • Proven experience pricing refurbishment and overcladding projects
  • Strong knowledge of rainscreen systems, ventilated façades and proprietary cladding products
  • Knowledge of Structural Framing Systems (SFS) such as Metsec or Kingframe
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications and survey reports
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical skills
  • Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Experience with post-Grenfell fire remediation projects
  • Knowledge of EWS1 processes and the Building Safety Act
  • AutoCAD experience
  • HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar
  • MRICS, MCIOB or other relevant professional membership
  • Experience working on Social Housing, Local Authority or NHS refurbishment frameworks
