A growing construction contractor is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual at the beginning of their surveying career to gain hands-on experience across a range of construction projects while developing their commercial and technical skills within a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will support the senior commercial team with the day-to-day financial management of projects from inception through to final account.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
- Support the commercial management of projects throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Assist with monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding commercial matters
- Maintain accurate financial and project records
- Support senior Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team
- Assist with procurement and subcontractor management activities
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and organisational abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates is essential
- Salary of £25,000 – £32,000
