Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a well‑established, family‑run construction and renewables contractor to recruit a Junior Bid Writer to join their growing pre‑construction and bid team. Our client delivers a wide range of construction, electrical and renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on social housing, public sector frameworks, responsive maintenance, voids, planned works and energy efficiency programmes. The Role

As Junior Bid Writer, you will support the preparation of high‑quality, compliant and persuasive tender submissions. Working closely with operational teams, directors and commercial staff, you will help develop compelling responses that support successful bids across public sector frameworks. This role offers strong exposure to the full bid lifecycle and provides an excellent foundation for career development within construction bid management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of PQQs, SQs and full tender submissions
  • Draft clear, structured and compliant written responses to tender questions
  • Support the creation of case studies, project examples and supporting evidence
  • Liaise with operational, commercial and SHEQ teams to gather technical information
  • Ensure all submissions are accurate, consistent and submitted within deadlines
  • Maintain and update the company bid library, standard responses and supporting documents
  • Support continuous improvement of bid quality, win themes and submission presentation
  • Assist in ensuring all submissions align with client requirements and evaluation criteria

About You

  • Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to structure clear, persuasive and logical responses
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proactive, collaborative and comfortable working with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Strong interest in developing a career in bid writing or construction pre‑construction

Desirable Experience

  • Degree qualified in English, Business, Construction Management or similar
  • Previous experience in bid writing, administration or construction environment
