We are currently seeking an experienced Competent Person to join our team on a National Grid project.

Requirements:

  • Valid National Grid Person ticket (essential)
  • Previous experience working as a Competent Person on National Grid, utilities, or civil engineering projects
  • Sound knowledge of excavation safety, permit systems, and site health & safety procedures
  • Ability to identify hazards and ensure compliance with National Grid standards
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Duties:

  • Carry out the duties of a Competent Person in accordance with National Grid procedures and project requirements
  • Inspect and monitor excavations, ensuring they remain safe and compliant
  • Ensure permits, risk assessments, and safe systems of work are followed
  • Identify and report hazards, taking appropriate action to maintain a safe working environment
  • Liaise with site management and operatives to ensure work is carried out safely
  • Follow all National Grid safety standards and company procedures
