We are currently working with a well-established Building Services Consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients and contribute to the delivery of innovative building services solutions across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education and public sector developments. The role offers a mix of technical design, project delivery and client interaction, alongside genuine opportunities for career progression within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design delivery of projects from concept through to completion
- Produce and review electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports
- Prepare detailed electrical building services designs
- Attend client, contractor and design team meetings
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Support and mentor junior engineers
- Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations and industry standards
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple projects across a variety of sectors
Requirements
- Experience within Electrical Building Services Design
- Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar
- Proficient in industry software including Revit, Amtech and Dialux/Relux
- Good understanding of British Standards and Building Regulations
- Knowledge of LV/HV electrical systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage workload and deliver projects to programme deadlines
Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership
- Membership of CIBSE, IET or equivalent professional body
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies
- Understanding of BREEAM and sustainable design principles
- Healthcare project experience
