Constructive Moves are recruiting for a Development Engineer to join a national housing developer that builds traditional housing developments across East Anglia. The Technical Department is very busy, so this role would ideally suit an Engineer with experience of working on volume housing schemes from either a consultancy or housing developer background.
This role will be an integral part of the technical team overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants involved in the project management and administration of all technical and design matters for various residential projects. It is important for the successful candidate to be adaptable and have a strong and consistent management approach to managing external consultants.
Duties may include:
- Assist in the production of layouts and technical reports for Land Appraisals and required working drawings
- Brief and commission site investigations, topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired
- Brief engineering consultants on scope of design, which includes roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, external levels, foundation designs and any other substructures below DPC level either private or adopted
- Initial negotiations/enquiries with statutory bodies and utility undertakers on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering issues when appraising land
- Co-ordinate and procure the provision of utility infrastructure and utility diversions
