Are you an experienced Solar Surveyor who knows your way around a quotation as well as a site survey? Or perhaps you're an Electrical Surveyor looking to move into the rapidly growing solar sector? We have an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing solar and electrical business based in Kent. Our client are looking for a capable, commercially minded Solar Surveyor / Estimator to join their close-knit team. This is a varied role combining site surveys, technical assessments and the preparation of accurate, competitive quotations. Experience within the solar industry would be ideal, but it's not essential. We're equally interested in hearing from experienced electrical surveyors who have the technical understanding and commercial awareness to make the move into solar.

What’s the opportunity? This isn't a business where you'll simply be another number. One of the things that genuinely sets our client apart is its people. They have built a fantastic team environment where everyone works together, supports one another and takes real pride in what they do. There's a strong sense of camaraderie, and everyone is valued for the contribution they make to the business. You’ll be joining a cohesive team where your experience, opinions and input will genuinely matter.

What will you be doing?

  • Carrying out site surveys for domestic and/or commercial solar and electrical installations.
  • Assessing properties and sites to establish the technical requirements for proposed installations.
  • Preparing accurate costings, estimates and quotations for prospective projects.
  • Pricing jobs, taking into consideration labour, materials, equipment and installation requirements.
  • Reviewing technical specifications, drawings and site information.
  • Identifying potential installation challenges and proposing practical solutions.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and the internal installation team.
  • Ensuring surveys and quotations are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Supporting the wider team throughout the quotation and project handover process.

What are we looking for? Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience as a Solar Surveyor, Solar PV Surveyor or Solar Estimator.
  • The ability to undertake site surveys and translate your findings into accurate job estimates.
  • Experience pricing installation projects and producing customer quotations.
  • A good understanding of electrical installations and associated requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commercially aware approach.
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team.

Don't have solar experience? Don't let that put you off. If you're an experienced Electrical Surveyor with a background in pricing, estimating or surveying electrical installation projects, we'd still love to hear from you. The right electrical knowledge and commercial mindset could make you an excellent fit.

What’s on offer?

  • Salary of £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Company mobile phone.
  • Laptop.
  • Opportunity to develop your career within the growing solar and renewable energy sector.
  • A genuinely supportive working environment.
  • A close-knit team where people look out for one another and everyone's contribution is appreciated.
  • A varied role offering a good balance of technical surveying and commercial estimating.

Interested? If you're looking for a role where you can use your technical and commercial experience, have real input into the business and work alongside a genuinely good bunch of people, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
