Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking a CDM Designer to join a growing multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery team supporting complex projects across highly regulated sectors including Defence, Power, Custodial, and the wider public sector.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Motherwell, with hybrid working available and a requirement to attend the office two days per week.

As a CDM Designer, you will support the delivery of Principal Designer duties across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with design teams, contractors and clients to ensure health and safety considerations are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Assist with the identification, elimination and management of foreseeable design and construction risks.
  • Facilitate CDM and design risk review workshops with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and maintain CDM Risk Registers.
  • Compile and coordinate Pre-Construction Information throughout the design phase.
  • Support the preparation of Health & Safety Files and associated CDM documentation.
  • Act as a key liaison between clients, designers and contractors.
  • Promote CDM best practice and support the delivery of internal training initiatives.

About You

To be successful as a CDM Designer, you will ideally have

  • Experience within a consultancy, engineering, construction or project delivery environment.
  • A degree or higher qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • A sound understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Professional membership or a desire to work towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
  • The ability to obtain UK Security Clearance.
