As a Trainee Field Technician, you will work on active construction sites, supporting the testing and inspection of materials to ensure they meet required quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on role carried out entirely in a site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with on-site testing of construction materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates
- Carry out basic field tests under supervision (e.g. concrete slump tests, soil compaction checks)
- Collect and label samples from site for further testing
- Accurately record test data and observations
- Set up testing equipment on-site
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules
- Work closely with other technicians and site engineers
Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly in Maths and Science
- Full UK driving licence (preferred due to travel between sites)
- Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one)
